The outer shell of a sea urchin is a calcareous pentad structure,usually radially symmetrical. Its unique appearance makes sea urchins excellent specimen materials. After proper treatment and preservation after collection, specimens can maintain their original shape and color for a long time, which provides valuable information for the study of Marine ecosystems, species classification and biological characteristics
In the ecosystem, sea urchins play an important role. They are part of the seafloor food chain and maintain the ecological balance by eating algae and organic matter.
