I like to collect a variety of different materials and colors of paper, each paper has its own unique texture and charm. On my work surface, I have colorful paper, scissors, glue, and tools. With clever folding, cutting and pasting, I can create a wide variety of flowers, from classic roses to fresh lilies, each paper flower with my heart and creativity.

Paper flowers are unique in their durability and visual beauty. I often use my handmade paper flowers to decorate my home, give them to friends or give them as gifts on special occasions. Each flower is not only a decoration, but also carries my love for life and blessings for my friends.

Zinnia

Today I'm excited to announce the project for July - the Zinnia! There are so many gorgeous varieties of this flower, with beautiful center details. The one that I've based my design on is the Magellan Pink Zinnia, a vivid bright pink flower with hints of lemon yellow and burgundy at the center. And... lots of leaves and buds! Do you see the little bud peeking out from between the bounty of green leaves?

I'll share a live plant study and deconstruction, as well as images to some different types of Zinnia. Yes, there are a lot of petals with this flower - but you can choose how full you want your Zinnia bloom to be (less full = less petals to cut). There will be two videos with step by step tutorials - the Deep Dive will go over the method for making the flower, leaves and stem, and then the last video of the month will go over how to make two different stages of Zinnia buds. They have such cool details!
